Two main groups contribute to produce champagne - the growers and the producers. There are over 15,000 growers of which 4,100 produce their own champagne.
There are about 30 large champagne houses that represent the majority of exports and these are the famous names we see in supermarkets, duty free stores and who have worldwide distribution. We have direct relationships with either the UK offices or the official UK distributors of the following brands: Ayala, Bollinger, Dom Perignon, Krug, Lanson, Laurent-Perrier, Louise Roederer, Moet & Chandon, Ruinart, Taittinger & Veuve Clicquot. This means we get official UK stock (not grey market which could have been shipped to other worldwide destinations before arriving in the UK) which is shipped to ensure good condition champagne with no issues of counterfeiting.
The smaller houses represent excellent value for money. We import directly from two producers who we have got to know well over the years. They both offer high quality, good value champagnes but with two very distinctive styles.
Granzamy Père & Fils are situated in Venteuil just a few kilometers west of Epernay in the Vallée de la Marne. The house was founded in 1907 and the family have been growers for five generations. The Pinot Meunier grape is dominant in their signature cuvée which gives a fruity flavour to the champagne.
Jean Josselin are based at Gye-sur-Seine in the Côte des Bar district. A family company founded in 1854 they are a grower producer with 10 hectares of vineyards, 90% of which are planted with Pinot Noir. Their signature cuvée is the Cuvée des Jean which is 100% Pinot Noir - a powerful and generous champagne.
